Field Officer

Responsibilities and tasks: Continuous analysis of the humanitarian, political, and security situation through networking Develops and maintains the network of interlocutors Briefs and updates interlocutors on the ICRC's activities and priorities; distribute ICRC publications and informational materials Maintains contacts with authorities at municipal degree, local Red Cross branches, population, suppliers, etc under supervision Compiles, consolidates and maintains the general list of contacts of the Tripoli Office Good understanding of local/regional/international context Drafts and types correspondence in English and in national language independently Provides written reports on meetings held with interlocutors, important events or developments. Produces letters and faxes, primarily related to notifications of activities (movements) or notifications of individual cases (other organizations, authorities) Translates basic documents from English to Arabic and vice versa when requested; Contributes to the implementation of internal security rules   Minimum required knowledge & experience: High school level 2 years work experience in a similar field Strong analytical and reporting skills Strong capabilities to work in a team Good command of written and spoken English. French is an asset. Good computer skills Good knowledge of geographically assigned environment Knowledge of Red Cross, Red Crescent is a plus.     Start of work:                As soon as possible Working base:               Tripoli with field trips in the North Deadline to apply:         02 July 2013 Duration of Contract :    6 months (renewable)
