Health Clinic Nurse

  Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Operations Officer the incumbent is responsible to: Performs both routine and sensitive clinical tasks required by the Migration Health Physician during Migration Health Assessments, in particular: Positively identify refugee migrants prior to their Laboratory and Radiology examinations, ensure antifraud measures are fully implemented at these stages of Migration Health Assessment, decode serology results (if requested by the supervisors), take and record medical history, perform anthropometrics, visual acuity and vital signs measurements. Also Liaises with the data assistant to make appointments for Drs’ examination Supervising the nurses and arranging work schedule for nurses and junior staff according to workload and schedule for examination. Making schedule for annual leaves for nurses at the clinic Making necessary arrangement to replace a staff who is on sick leave Contacting consultant doctors and agreeing on examination schedule Corresponding with other hospitals for admission and reports of admitted cases and coordinates with the responsible Dr in keeping track of such cases. Assigns a nurse to assist/relief the TB assistant when necessary. Provides info regarding TB data while referring clients to TB clinic or NTBP. Updates the files in coordination with the Dr responsible Administers prescriptions/recommendations ordered by the Migration Health Physicians, including application of appropriate treatment. Prepares, install or sterilizes medical equipment needed for medical examination. Requests and re-stocks required medical supplies and drugs and medicines. Monitors and reports expiration dates of drugs and medicines and refers to Chief Nurse for disposal. Maintains and safe-keeps medical kits used by medical escorts and staff on duty mission. Performs pre-departure medical checks and administers treatment for traveling refugees/migrants. Prepares a report about the therapy, according to the country of resettlement requirements. Coordinates the work of the Junior Nurses and assists the IOM doctor in organizing work assignments and health assessment workflows.  Coordinates with the TB assistant about work at the TB clinic-or the national TB program Participates in field missions in out of duty stations and as act nurse escort of medical cases.  Ensures timely return of all completed medical forms to the respective embassies, High commissions and Data Profo unit within IOM Amman. Training new nurses in other missions within the region Maintains confidentiality of information and collaborative relationship with clients, partners and health professionals. Performs any other duties that may be assigned by from time to time.
