Save the Children has been operating in Lebanon since 1999 and is recognized for its commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration.  Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, CRC, Health and Nutrition, Food Security & Livelihood, Shelter, and Emergency Response throughout Lebanon.   Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions, for its Lebanon Country Office, in the following locations Beirut, Tripoli, Akkar and Bekaa:     ROLE PURPOSE: The Senior Community Mobilization Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy of the engagement of children and communities in prevention and response to issues that affect children’s wellbeing, including set up and strengthening of community based child protection mechanisms and community organizing activities for adolescents.      KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:   Community Engagement Map out existing networks that are able to discuss issues effecting children and families Provide analysis and build understanding of how the community functions, entry points for engagement and decision making within the community, in order to ensure that services build on community capacities and take into account community norms and needs Lead engagement of communities and community leaders in identification of child protection priorities and programme planning Facilitate and support the establishment, capacity building and functioning of community based child protection mechanisms   Child and Adolescent engagement Implement programs to engage children and adolescents in community based child protection mechanisms, including through the set up of child sub-working groups Build capacity of adolescents to engage in community mobilization and improvement. Support development of mechanisms to facilitate adolescent engagement in the community.   Identification, information and Referral Work with other sectors and agencies to map and update services available Develop and manage mechanisms for basic information and service referral, including development of mechanisms for updating information and evaluating services Work with other CP staff, including centre coordinators, to ensure basic information and service referral are being implemented and monitored Support identification of priority issues for child protection awareness raising with children and adults Feed into design/adaptation of materials to be used for education/awareness       APPLICATION PROCESS   Please note that the closing date for applications is : For External applicants on June 23rd .                    The selection committee will review all applications as they are received.
