Medical Doctor – Male/female

Assignment The medical doctor will be based in Kamed el Loz, West Bekaa. He/She will be assigned to the operations of a mobile clinic serving the surrounding villages of the area.   Main responsibilities: Run mobile clinic in Kamed el Loz and the surrounding villages. Manage and organise the team in the best outfit. Perform curative health consultations   Main responsibilities and activities of the medical doctors can change according to the organization of the mobile clinic and to the composition of the team   Main activities: 1.      Organization of the activities Participate to the loading and unloading of the vehicle and to the setting up of the mobile clinic Follow the basic medical rules of hygiene and make sure the rest of the staff does it Manage and organize the team and its activities according to the onsite need in order to facilitate the provision of services to the target community. In collaboration with Medical Coordinators perform the weekly planning of the activities Coordinate with the Head of Center the trip of villages   2.      Conduct Medical Consultation during clinic hours: Take a proper medical history including reason for consultation, duration of the illness or complaints, main symptoms, past medical history and treatment, perform an appropriate physical examination (inspection, auscultation, percussion, and palpation), systematic checking of signs of severity Diagnose and treat the pathologies according to protocols in use (i.e. Clinical Guidelines) Write the most important complaints, signs, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment on the patient’s registration form Prescribe medication from the essential list and explain the treatment to the patient. Refer patients who need intensified care to either the PHC Centre or secondary appropriate institutions.   3.      Provide consultation on reproductive health, which should include ANC, PNC and family planning. (Family Planning-On request). Should fill in the ANC and PNC registration form and ensure that the preliminary screening investigation has been carried out.   4.      Consult malnourished patients and ensure proper follow up 5.      Verify the immunization status of the children according to National Protocol and to perform immunisation activities when required 6.      AOB if required for the implementation of the program   Requested Competence:   Qualified Medical Doctor registered at Lebanese Order of Physicians Arabic language is mandatory. Experience working with NGO is preferred. Ability to cope with difficult security context. Capacity to live in basic condition in the field. To be able to work as part of a team and participate in all activities of the mobile/ static clinic. To be in line with humanitarian principles and Amel objectives.
