Child Friendly Spaces Assistant (Bekaa)

MAJOR TASKS: Facilitate access to the child friendly spaces for all. Participate in the recruitment of the animators that will be facilitating activities with children in the CFS. Ensure that minimum standards of the child friendly are considered Support in conducting structured group activities as art, cultural activities, sport, games and life skills building ones. Develop the project action plan (according to the specific psychosocial needs of the children) and monitor its implementation with the support of the animators. Evaluate the implementation of the project according to the approved stated objectives Support the animators in the implementation of the daily or weekly activities and conduct various field visits to the different areas of operations to monitor and supervise the progress of the work periodically. Once needed and on occasional basis, carry out public relations activities, which include accompanying foreign visitors and donors to the project. Identify and mobilize partners. Coordinate with the partners, local NGOs and other organizations working in the CFS’s sector and in the Bekaa area. Assist in the provision of appropriate capacity building for the local partners, animators and / or volunteers working in the CFS to ensure the sustainability of the project. Identify key protection threats affecting the child friendly spaces. Identify safety issues and follow-up with the risk manager on the safety and security of the chosen locations Develop monthly operational progress reports with the support of the animators and the local partners. Prepare financial and narrative reports on the progress of the project. Prepare and update the list of items to be purchased when needed and coordinate with World Vision Lebanon Procurement officer on all procurement needs. Sign agreements with municipalities and schools in order to proceed with establishing the child friendly spaces in their premises. Facilitate the rehabilitation of the determined locations (Painting, procurement of needed material, installation of the sound system, bathroom renovation, etc.) Arrange transportation for children to and from the child friendly spaces Arrange for meals during the CFS activities Knowledge and Skills Good command of English, both written and oral. Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity. Positive attitude with a willingness to learn. Ability to cope and work under pressure. Computer literate mainly in Microsoft Office package. Willing to travel within Lebanon with a valid driver’s license Well-organized, self-motivated and ability to work in a team. Ability to work in difficult and high risk situations Knowledge of the psychosocial guidelines and approaches related to emergency context ( MHPSS IASC guidelines, PFA principles, etc.). Familiar with core principles of Children Rights, Participation, Do No Harm, Community and Family Support as well as Children in Emergencies minimum standards.
