Document Purpose
This document outlines the goals of the Youth and Adolescent Health project ( Substance Abuse prevention)– Drama Component, the responsibilities of World Vision (first party), and the responsibilities of potential contracted second parties. It also defines the process interested second parties must undergo in order to bid for contract fulfillment, as well as a timeframe for overall project success.
Project Description
The “youth and Adolescent health- Substance abuse prevention” is a Health project multifaceted endeavor in partnership with multiple organizations, designed in its second outcome to promote healthy lifestyle among youth and Adolescents. The Drama Component is a creative arts presentation within this initiative, aiming to raise awareness among children and Adolescents on how to “ avoid risky behaviors , with a specific focus on Substance abuse prevention” from Drug- alcohol and smoking
Dramas will be performed in different communities, with audiences primarily ages 8-15. The drama should be 35 to 45 minutes, followed by an audience question-and-answer period with the characters of the drama. The drama will run from beginning of July, 2013 to Sept 30, 2013, and reach a minimum of 4,000 children while not exceeding 25 total performances.
Contractor (Second Party) Specifications
A qualified candidate for the second party contractor must:
Be an official organization working within the creative arts field and with children/youth
Be sufficiently able to fulfill contract requirements within specified timeframe (includes adequate staffing)
Submit all specified bidding documents by May 22 , 2013
Drama Specifications
The drama designed by the second party must:
Be 35 to 45 minutes long, followed by an audience question-and-answer period with the characters of the drama for 15 minutes.
Utilize four actors (minimum)
Utilize a mobile set, costumes, props, etc.
Include songs tailored to fit the topic.
Be reviewed and approved by World Vision committee and successfully piloted by June, 2013
Successfully engage children ages 8-15 in the topic of Substance abuse prevention
Party Responsibilities
World Vision (First Party)
The first party agrees to:
Secure the agreement of sufficient communities/ stakeholders working with children to host drama sessions.
Provide sufficient project funding as outlined in first party-second party agreement.
Review second party reports and provide general oversight as necessary.
Contractor (Second Party)
The second party agrees to:
Develop drama in line with first party specifications (see above) and budget.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders who work with children (third parties) to book session dates, as well as coordinate all logistics of executing the sessions.
Perform for a minimum of 4,000 children with a maximum of 25 performances
At each session, the second party agrees to fill in an attendance report – signed by both the second party and third party representatives – detailing:
Name of Stakeholder, location, date, time, number of children and number of adults
At the conclusion of each month, second party agrees to submit a report detailing:
Number of sessions in the month and overall attendance at these sessions

At least 20 sessions completed: between July and August 2013 (or 3200 beneficiaries)
25 sessions completed: Sept 30, 2013 (or 4000 beneficiaries)
