Wash Assessment Consultant

THE PURPOSE OF ASSESSMENT  The primary purpose of the assessment is to assess Water, Hygiene, and Sanitation (WASH) Needs of Syrian Refugees in Lebanon and more specifically in our Bekaa and South programs. Tentatively, the assessment will be looking at: an in  depth assessment of WASH needs for Syrian Refugees in Lebanon and in defined programs with relevant partners Stakeholder analysis of major WASH contributors in Lebanon ASSESSMENT METHOD  The assessment methods should be participatory and involve as many stakeholders as possible. Data collection methods may include: secondary data information, general observations, interviewing key stakeholders, surveys, and focus group discussions. MAJOR TASKS  Review relevant literature, Develop assessment methodology and implementation plan. These should be shared with and approved by WV DME manager, WV WASH specialist, and Response Program manager, Implement agreed assessment plan, Provide weekly feedback to WVL team Present main findings of the assessment to WVL team Draft the assessment report and submit to WVL for feedback. WVL might invite feedback from different stakeholders as appropriate, Prepare the final assessment report in view of the feedback on the draft report. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Advanced degree in relevant field (e.g. Social Sciences, Public Health, etc)  Good understanding of the Syrian Crisis and Humanitarian Standards,  Familiar with civil society and NGO engagement and work in the Syrian Crisis Good analytical and critical thinking Proven knowledge and experience in applying participatory research methods and tools. EXPECTED OUTPUTS Assessment report in English (As per the WV Assessment Report Guidelines) A power point presentation in English including methodology, main findings and recommendations
