Terre des hommes Foundation (Lausanne) is implementing a project of child protection for the people displaced from Syria. The project is in need of one Social Worker who will work in the implementation of the project in the Palestinian camps of Tyre area. The social worker will sign and adhere to Tdh’s Child protection policy.
Duties:
Case Management: Assume primary case management responsibility to project targeted children. Ensure that risk identification, referral and follow up are conducted. Ensure a prompt and timely response to children determined and identified at ‘high risk’ through project activities. Promote, ensure and establish the child as a central actor in case management practices. Link the child, his/her family and community to child protection resources and networks of assistance. Act in the best interest of the child.
Child Protection Resources: Identify and liaise with local resources for referral of cases. Assist in the production of a referral pathway tool, clearly identifying both formal and informal child protection resources. Assist in the coordination and delivery of community child protection awareness raising events.
In addition, the successful candidate will implement project activities in accordance with the Non-Violent Communication principles, the principle of neutrality, in accordance with Tdh administrative, logistics and security procedures, and will ensure proper reporting in a timely manner.
Requirements: Social work understanding/experience and experience with children, Emergencies / humanitarian action experience, Openness to working with Palestinian communities, Driver’s license, Computer and communication skills
