Quality Control Clerk - Zahle

Introduction DRC is an International non-governmental organization, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world. In response to the Syrian refugees entering Lebanon DRC has established programmes to support the refugees. DRC’s response is in the following Sectors: core relief items; community services; food, protection, and shelter. Funding has been provided by UNHCR, WFP, and ECHO. Position’s Overall Objectives The Warehouse Quality Control Clerk, in coordination and cooperation with the supporting staff, and supervised by the Warehouse Supervisor is expected to substancially contribute to: Daily quality stock control and of the DRC Warehouse he/she is assigned to. Fulfilling objectives and directions from the DRC Warehouse Supervisor. Position’s Specific Objectives Furthermore, the Warehouse Quality Control Clerk, in coordination and cooperation with supporting staff, is expected to pursue the following objectives in his/her daily work: Reports to the warehouse he/she is assigned to as early as 0500 daily. Ensures that all deliveries of stock/goods to DRC warehouses conform to the specifications as ordered on the original Purchase Order. Responsibilities and Tasks To achieve the overall and specific position’s objectives the DRC Quality Control Clerk will perform the following tasks and undertake the following responsibilities: Responsible for checking daily deliveries for damages/faults on goods delivered to DRC warehouse he/she is assigned to. Checking items such as mattresses for the correct measurements as per the specifications on the Purchase Order. Also,      checking material for tears in the material. Opening a percentage of food items to check for the expiry date on all items bearing an expiry date. Checking packaging for tears and spillages. Checking items for damage faults and deficiencies such as heating stoves which come with accoutrements. Preparation of the Warehouse Loss/Shortage Damage Reports in relation to Damage/Loss/Shortage/Expired goods. Informs the Warehouse Supervisor of any anomalies in the deliveries being taken in. Other duties as deemed necessary by the Warehouse Supervisor Maintaining standards on health and safety, hygiene and security in the Warehouse. Understand and ensure the observance of the DRC Code of Conduct.   Qualifications & Experience Logistics/Warehouse Certificate (Desirable) 2 years experience in working in a large warehouse Warehouse documentation experience Proven team player Demonstrate a sound knowledge of warehouse documentation procedures and systems Good communication skills NGO experience (desirable) Computer Skills: Intermediate level in MS Word and Excel Fluent in English and Arabic All DRC staff must be committed to the values, vision and mission of DRC Duration: Until the 30th of June 2013; renewable (depending on performance and availability of funds) Starting date: ASAP (May 2013) Conditions: DRC offers a competitive local salary and benefits package.
