GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Officer will ensure day-to-day field management, supervision and coordination of all the activities taking place during the lifetime of the Improving Resilience of Syrian refugees in South Lebanon project. The project will contribute to increasing the resilience of Syrian refugees who fled to the Districts of Nabatiyeh and Marjeyoun. Specifically, the project will support the non-registered Syrian families by providing them with a non-food basket, with content that can be adapted as per their needs; undertaking minor repairs to selected number of rented and host family homes; and supporting registration of refugees. Particular focus is on women headed households. The Program Officer will maintain impartiality and neutrality in dealing with all stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Support the Sr. Program Officer and MC technical team in conducting monthly house-to-house visits to carry out profiling of targeted households, verify the eligibility of households selected for minor repair purposes, identify non-food item needs, and execute needs assessments and monitoring questionnaires as needed;
Maintain and update village level database of refugee profiles and sector-based needs;
Carry out awareness sessions and dissemination of information related to registration processes.
Monitor the NFI voucher distribution process as per Mercy Corps regulations and standards.
Support the Sr. Program Officer and operations team to identify vendors, suppliers, transporters and others involved with the NFI supply chain.
Work with and coach appointed Syrian Refugee Focal Points to support project activity implementation;
Prepare lists of refugees for transportation to UNHCR registration centers;
Prepare weekly field reports to be submitted to Sr. Program Officer;
Support in facilitating agency and donor monitoring visits;
Support in establishing and maintaining proper project documentation and records, including but not limited to: needs assessments questionnaires, monitoring questionnaires, certificates of vouchers receipts, consolidated list of beneficiaries, photos etc.
Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mercy Corps and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission.
