Lebanon – Finance Assistant TOR
The Finance Assistant is expected to represent Relief International (RI) Lebanon in a responsible manner and always to act in accordance with the RI Code of Conduct.
JOB PURPOSE
To support the Finance Officer in Lebanon with financial routines.
To take responsibility for the daily financial practicalities of the Beirut office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports to the Financial Officer; coordinates with the Lebanon Program Manager.
Process incoming invoices and vouchers, ensuring that these are properly approved, stamped and coded.
Prepares monthly Cash on Hand and Bank Reconciliations, and Cash transaction journals (CTJ); Communicates with Head Quarters on same.
Performs daily and monthly cash counts, matching with CTJ and BTJ and communicates accordingly.
Preparing day to day financial vouchers: Checks, Cash Advances, PV’s and Cash Payments.
Ensure adequate and smooth cash flow; cash count and clearance of petty cash balance.
Monitors Field Office cash flow to ensure the Field Office has adequate cash on hand but not in excess its immediate disbursement needs, to fund program operations.
Ensure that transactions are complete and accurate. Reviews coding on all vouchers for valid account/cost centre/donor combinations;
Assist in preparation of weekly and monthly cash flow. Plans and requests cash disbursements.
Assist in the monthly and quarterly VAT reporting.
Perform documentation filing as prescribed by RI Policy.
Perform monthly scanning and Assists in Audit schedule preparation.
Quick-Book Data entry for expenses monthly report for HQ controller.
Ensures there is proper supporting documentation for all payments and other accounting entries.
Support the Finance/Officer in the preparation of monthly financial reports.
Draft monthly/quarterly RFF request for correspondent grants.
Reviewing correspondent Financial Report and following up closely to ensure documenting and spending project as per budget.
Ensure preparation of Field Office Financial documents for external and internal audits.
Maintain effective communication with RI’s HQ regarding finance and program implementation.
Perform other duties as needed.
Education & Qualifications:
BA in Finance and/or Auditing; MA is a plus.
Speaks Excellent English and Excellent Arabic.
Dynamic personality and willing to learn.
2-3 years experience in an NGO setting.
Must be a National Staff
Have a valid driver's license
