2 Physiotherapist

GLOBAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION Support and respond to all rehabilitation and physiotherapy issues of the disability and vulnerability focal point project for population affected by the Syrian crisis, and especially the most vulnerable ones within the refugees communities. HIERARCHICAL RELATIONSHIPS Line manager: DFVP Project Officer Line manager+1: DVFP Project Manager   RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS DESCRIPTION Based in Tripoli, under the direct responsibility of the DVFP) Project Officer, in close collaboration with the pluridisciplinary DVFP team (social workers, psychologist workers, physiotherapists, 1 mental health and psychosocial support expert), and with the support of a regional technical advisor, you will have to: 1.   Assess functional capacities of the beneficiaries and identify their needs in terms of rehabilitation and specifics items: Execute a rehabilitation assessment taking into account physical issues and in a close collaboration with other team members’ if needed According to the outcomes of the assessment of the beneficiaries’ needs (taking into account her/his daily activities, the participation of her/his care-giver, his access to services, etc…), elaborate an appropriate intervention and a plan of treatment (including provision of technical aids and specific items)   2.   Offer secure and appropriate rehabilitation interventions  and provide appropriate assistive devices when needed: The rehabilitation interventions will have to be based on the informed consent of the beneficiary and adapted to her/his essentials needs. The intervention will have to take into account the limitations of the emergency responses. The intervention has to be comprehensive for the beneficiary and his family/caretaker and in accordance with international rehabilitation standards. The intervention has to be based on the defined objectives of the rehabilitation activity as well as on the beneficiaries’ objectives The physiotherapist has to be able to detect any physiologic changes of beneficiary and will modify treatment consecutively or refer to relevant colleague or superior. The physiotherapist has to know and take into account contra-indications and precautions related to diverse illness, problems and medical treatments. The physiotherapist has to use secure techniques when working with beneficiary. The physiotherapist is responsible of the specific services provided to the beneficiary.    3.   Refer beneficiary to other services when needed: The physiotherapist has to be able to identify his/her own limits and ask for support before any acts that could cause harm to beneficiary. The physiotherapist will refer persons to appropriate services through adequate referral system in place. Referrals will be discussed in team meetings and in close collaboration with others colleagues. The physiotherapist will have to recognize emergency situation or situations that need immediate medical care and react in consequence making efforts to ensure that beneficiary get the appropriate services.  The physiotherapist will have to be trained on assessing the beneficiaries’ needs and be able to do other referrals as all the other team members    4.   Report data, follow-up cases and organize daily and weekly activities Demonstrate abilities to report pertinent information and formalize it Complete an evolution note after each intervention done on a beneficiary Close follow-up of individual and familial cases to ensure a qualitative follow-up of all the beneficiaries, Ensure a daily quantitative and qualitative reporting through the tools (assessment form, follow up form, discharge and monitoring form, donation certificate) and system in place Organization of the weekly plan within the pluridisciplinary team, with the support of DVFP PO Any other reports to be made upon line manager request    5.  To build other team members’ and partners’ member’s capacities (in assessing the needs of people in terms of rehabilitation, mobility aids, assistive devices, occupational activities…): Work in a constructive way with the psychosocial workers, the social workers and the mental health and psychosocial support expert. Provide technical advices and on the job training when relevant Develop tools or any support for team’s and partner.   6.   To support the setting up of activities with the partners: Provide a technical support to the partners to develop adapted activities for beneficiaries Ensure a proactive presence in the planning with the partner and during the activities Monitor the activities on a technical point of view   7.  Participate in the analysis and reporting of global issues in the refugee population In formal and informal meetings with the team, participate to a qualitative analysis of the different kinds of issues, at individual, familial and community level Participate to report with the tools and the internal system all issues identified Be part of a constructive holistic team work to develop a very qualitative analysis and response for disable and vulnerable persons   8.  Demonstrate an ethic and professional practice: Respect beneficiary confidentiality. Respect and promote HI’s Policies and report to your line manager any non respect of HI’s policies amongst the teams or partners. Address needs and requests in a professional way. Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others. Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers Always ask the permission to touch or to apply any treatment or manoeuvres to someone. Always respect a refusal of treatment. Work with the best of knowledge and abilities to offer a good quality rehabilitation treatment. Show abilities and competences to execute an efficient rehabilitation intervention.   9.  Demonstrate willingness to improve professional competences and abilities to increase care quality: Demonstrate motivation at work. Note that this job description must remain flexible, to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager.   TIME SCHEDULE Monday till Friday from 8:30 A.M till 5:30 P.M one hour Lunch Break The working days could change in the future to fulfill 48 Hours/ week according to the Lebanese Law.
