The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and nonprofit organization, founded in 1956, that works in more than 30 countries around the world. DRC has been operating in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian and Iraqi refugees, as well as Lebanese communities affected by the war in 2006. DRC is committed to basic humanitarian principles; including impartiality and neutrality, and offers the highest standards of accountability to the people it serves.
DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011, and the Bekaa valley since February 2012. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities and rehabilitation of collective shelters. DRC is inviting local candidates to apply for the position of Distribution Monitoring Assistant - Akkar, to support its activities under the project "Emergency Response for Displaced Syrians in Lebanon"
Reporting to Distribution Officer
Responsible for Collecting and Counting Vouchers, Assessing and supporting partner shops in the vouchers project, Closely support the distribution officer in all PDM activities
Voucher System Set-up Identify and map potential partner shops to be enrolled in the Voucher System
Conduct an assessment and profiling of the mapped shops
Take part to the selection committee and contribute to the selection decision making process
Conduct training on the vouchers system to the selected partner shops
Provide other assistance to partner shops as needed to enable them to cooperate effectively and accordingly to SOPs within the voucher project
Collection and Counting of the vouchers:
Organise the daily / weekly / monthly work plan, according to guidelines of the Distribution Officer and SAM
Collect on a daily/weekly/ad hoc basis the distributed vouchers from the partner shops
Count and report the number of collected vouchers
Coordinate with DRC Procurement and Logistic Unit in Beirut to organize the delivery of the blank vouchers
Provide necessary support for preparation of vouchers for distribution
Coordinate with DRC and UNHCR database officers to receive the updated databases
Complaints
Deal with complaints or issue related to distribution/voucher (also through telephone hotline if requested)
Follow-up on complaints received from beneficiaries and shop owners
Deliver Verbal and Written Warning to the Shop Owners and provide them with necessary guidelines to enable them adherence with rules and SOPs
PDM
Support the distribution officer in organizing the PDM activities
Conduct post distribution monitoring in shops participating to voucher project Conduct door to door interviews and/or focus group discussion with families benefiting of vouchers
Monitor and evaluate on going distribution and voucher activities and report on unmet needs and gaps
Report on the PDM findings
Requirements:
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Ability to work under pressure
Flexibility in terms of working hours and working locations
Social work experience (advantage)
Computer literate, ability to type in Arabic and English
