Erd Database Manager

OBJECTIVE   -          To support the ERD Livelihoods Cash Assistance Program through provision of regular data entry, analysis and reports of cash assistance. -           To organize the data collection and reporting system on ERD Livelihoods  Cash Assistance Program.    MAIN TASKS OF THE ASSIGNMENT    To support the ERD Livelihood Cash Assistance Program in the following tasks: -          Assist in the process of constructing a Main Database for monitoring cash assistance in terms of: Database of  households assessed by the Cash Assistance Program Database of households excluded from the program Database of referral cases Database of households not showing up to cash distribution sessions Database of households monitored -          Ensure accurate and consistent entry of data received from partner/s into database/s -          Perform data analysis and produce reports in various formats including graphs, charts etc. as required. -          Maintain and further develop the structure or format of the database/s as required, incorporating suggestions and amendments from ERD team and partners. -          Provide additional updates and data analysis as required. -          Provide technical support to IRC and partners’ staff on the specific data required from them in relation to the different indicators they are monitoring (telephone support or travel to other offices) as required. -          Train IRC (ERD team) and partner/s staff on the use of the databases. -          Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for documenting the various steps followed in developing the Database and how to use the Database for IRC and partner organizations. -          Develop and maintain a shared space and web interface for the Database/s. -          Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of the work. -          Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.   The Database Manager will report to the ERD Livelihoods Program Manager at IRC.   DELIVERABLES -          Accurate analysis and reports of data -          Maintenance of the MS Access/Excel database/s mentioned above and other/s as required -          Reports (weekly/monthly/quarterly) generated from the database. -          A technical report covering all aspects of the database development process and definitions of codes, variables and copies of any software programme written. SOPs on the use of the database and/or training materials for training on relevant staff on the use of the database   GENERAL CONDITIONS -          IRC will facilitate travel to the field -          The ERD Livelihoods Program Manager will supervise the work of the staff member and provide managerial support as needed. The staff member will also work in close collaboration with the ERD program’s main partner and may have to spend specific days at their office in Halba IRC will provide the staff member with a work station, a laptop, email address, specific programs needed for his/her accomplishment of the above deliverables, etc

EDUCATION: University diploma or degree in Computer Sciences or related technical field. Any well proven EXCEL Experience or Microsoft certifications in ACCESS or SQL Server would be preferred.
- Ability to use Microsoft Access databases i.e. enter data, update records and fields, modify database structure, generate customized reports
- Ability to design the structure of the database and write interfaces (eg Microsoft excel for data entry to ensure data quality and security
- Maturity and professional ability to handle sensitive information and ability to respect the confidentiality of such information while working IRC and even after the contract ends.
