Handicap International is an independent and impartial international aid organisation working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. Working alongside persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, our action and testimony are focused on responding to their essential needs, improving their living conditions and promoting respect for their dignity and their fundamental rights.
Handicap International is a not-for-profit organisation with no religious or political affiliation. It operates as a federation made up of a network of associations that provide it with human and financial resources, manage its projects and implement its actions and social mission.
Through its Emergency Response Department (ERD), created in 2006 after the merge with Atlas Logistique, the organization is committed to:
Provide an adequate response to major natural disaster and conflict situations, anywhere in the world as much as possible within 72 hours;
Provide assistance to vulnerable groups (refugees, IDPs, persons with injuries, elders, children, etc.) affected by a crisis and maximize the number of beneficiaries. Within vulnerable groups, target especially PwD and meet their specific needs;
Constantly monitor chronic crises and/or conflicts to ensure preparedness for and rapid response to eventual emerging needs.
HI has been present in theMiddle Eastsince 1987 through its Development Department. HI started from early April 2012 a new project at the regional level aiming at the recognition and respect of the rights of PwD by the authorities and institutions, through the reinforcement of the Disabled People’s Organisations (DPO) and the disability movement at large. In Lebanon, in addition to the regional project, HI has been implemented a project aiming at improving the access to mental health rehabilitation services for the children with psychological distress living in the Palestinian camps.At last, in 2010, HI established the only humanitarian demining capacity in northern Lebanon (Batroun Region) Action Center (LMAC) in achieving its goal of making Lebanon mine impact free by 2020.
MISSION CONTEXT
Following the yearlong crisis in theSyrianArabRepublic, that has caused the displacement of civilians inTurkey,LebanonandJordan, Handicap International is implementing projects inLebanonandJordan, aiming at mitigating the impact of the crisis on the Syrian refugees and the host communities.
InLebanonas well as inJordan, Handicap International aims to improve the access to emergency rehabilitation cares for the Syrian refugees at hospital and community level and to improve the coverage of the specific needs of the most vulnerable people affected by the crisis at the community level. InLebanon, the targeted areas are the northernBekaaValleyandTripoli, whereas inJordan, the targeted area is the northern region closed to the boarder.
THE JOB
Based in Zahle -Bekaa, under the direct responsibility of the distribution program manager, in close collaboration with distribution/outreach team, you will have to:
1. Ensure the global quality of the data entry and reporting for the whole project :
Enter the data collected by the field team in the database on electronic version:
- assessment information
- distribution information
- discharge/monitoring information
Manage list of distribution:
- Produce comprehensive list of beneficiaries including area, needs, items and specificities
- Ensure list of distributed beneficiaries are fully filled and reported
- Produce lists of assisted beneficiaries
Ensure quality of the data entered and within the respect of deadlines:
- Ensure all data entered are correct
- Cross check with paper versions
2. Ensure adaptions of the database according to the project’s needs, in close collaboration with distribution PM:
Report any discrepancies to distribution PM between the database and the documents used by the team on the field
Propose improvements to distribution PM of the database and documents used by the team on the field and ensure the adaption of these documents as needed
3. Regularly report to the database officer about your work
Daily and weekly report on assessment done in close link with outreach project officer
Daily and weekly report on distribution done in close link with distribution project officer
4. Analyze data, under distribution PM request :
Provide weekly and monthly reports on data
Participate in the production of intermediary and final report for donors
Provide any data analysis report under distribution PM request, producing charts and written analysis
Provide relevant analysis of the collected data and produce information on project’s outputs, outcomes and impacts
Generate comprehensive data for reporting on key variables (per community, gender, type of vulnerability…)
Generate comprehensive quantitative data on activities using the different follow up tools
5. Arrange files and provide proper information to the teams to ensure a quality beneficiary’s data management
Keep clear files in need to be entered in database
Range all files in proper place
Provide the teams with daily updates on new ID number and closed/opened files
6. Ensure confidentiality of the data management :
Respect the total confidentiality of the data collected and entered
Ensure to never speak about data out of the distribution project
Ensure security of the database and files
