Hygiene Promoter

Raising awareness: Design hygiene promotion messages, activities, intervention processes and tools; Arrange and deliver hygiene promotion sessions to targeted communities. Implement hygiene promotion initiatives appropriate to the context ensuring the technical and social aspects of water and sanitation programming are integrated. Educate people about key aspects of hygiene in a culturally appropriate manner  Ensure all work is carried out as per the community needs take part in local, national or international campaigns to raise awareness about health risks resulting from poor hygienic practices Forging Relationships:• Forging relationships with people in the community in order to get the message across. • Develop trust, tolerance and co-operation among community members; • Mobilize, motivate and encourage potential leaders to talk to their fellow community members about good hygiene practices. Assessing Risks:• Identify and assess public hygiene risks and needs • Report areas of concern to the WASH (Water and Sanitation Hygiene) Coordinator Networking:Collaborate with a number of other agencies, including local authorities and international aid workers during the implementation of water and sanitation programs. Reporting: Provide weekly and monthly reports to WASH Coordinator on hygiene issues and program progress against work plan and program activities.  Document and share lessons learnt with the WASH Coordinator, local community members and local stakeholders Minimum requirementsCandidate must possess Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with a proven track of involvement in awareness rising sessions as a facilitator.1+ year’s experiences as Hygiene Promotion and development sector in WASH related projects.
