Driver / Logistics Assistant

The Logistics Assistant (Driver/LA) is expected to represent Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Lebanon in a respectful and professional manner and always act in accordance with NRC Code of Conduct.   JOB PURPOSE To assist the LO in  managing the transport requirements of NRC’s Tyr office including the day to day management of all vehicles in the NRC fleet and drive NRC’s primary vehicle.  In addition, the Driver/LA will be assessing the LO in local procurement and undertaking administration tasks requiring journeys outside of the office.  The Driver/LA will also add to his duties security follow-up and other office requirements like purchasing and maintenance. The management of NRC warehouse will be the full responsibility of the Driver /LA.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Current Assignments: As Driver  (Please refer to the driver’s guide for details) -          The driver is responsible for any vehicle he is driving, transporting authorized NRC personnel on official duty and cargo to the points of destination. This includes collecting materials from projects and suppliers. -          The driver is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of his designated NRC vehicle(s). This includes filling of oil (engine & brakes) and water (battery), adjusting Gaz pressure as well as ensuring that all required tools in the vehicle are functional and available -          The driver is also responsible for the safe-keeping of tools and documents kept in the vehicle. Any damage or loss must be reported immediately. -          The driver is responsible for the designated vehicles being representative and clean (interior as well as exterior) at all times. -          The driver shall follow the schedule of servicing of the designated NRC vehicles. -          In case of accident, a written report on any accident is to be submitted to the immediate superior. -          The driver shall ensure that non-NRC staff travelling in NRC vehicles. Should sign a disclaimer (waiver) form -          The driver shall refill the car each time the tanks is half-full.     Specific Duty -          The working hours are flexible and depend on the manager specific request -          The emergency driver will be on duty 1 week-end per month, as per request of the FAM or CD Logistics -          To maintain and upkeep the office and ensure all services are provided and are sufficient for the Tyr Office. -          To create, maintain and update list of useful suppliers -          To undertake Inventory, ensure consistency with financial inventory, ensure proper labelling, dispose properly of declassified equipment -          To liaise with the administrative Officer to keep track of stationary and to order items when needed this includes items such as printer cartridges, coffee, gas, water, etc…   Procurement -          To supervise materials delivery to the warehouse by suppliers -          To organize materials transportation from warehouse to assigned locations -          To follow up on materials movement -          To assist in documenting and filing POs   AS Store Keeper -        To take responsibility for the NRC warehouse. -        To manage stock and flow of materials -        To undertake inventory -        To assist the site supervisors when appropriate. -        To plan new procurement where necessary     Security -          To assist the LO in following-up on all the movement of cars from Tyr office to the field and to Beirut.
