Syrian Crisis in Lebanon: North, Bekaa, Beirut
OVERALL OBJECTIVES
The Danish Refugee Council is fast expanding its response to the Syrian crisis and is looking to identify suitable Admin and Finance Officers who are interested in working in the North (Tripli or Akkar), in Bekaa (Zahle or Baalbeck), or in Beirut who will be requested to respond quickly to vacancies as they become available.
BACKGROUND
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and nonprofit organization, founded in 1956, that works in more than 30 countries around the world. DRC has been operating in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian and Iraqi refugees, as well as Lebanese communities affected by the war in 2006. DRC is committed to basic humanitarian principles; including impartiality and neutrality, and offers the highest standards of accountability to the people it serves.
DRC is inviting local candidates to apply for the position of Admin and Finance Officers , to support its activities under the project "Emergency response for displaced Syrians in Lebanon".
Specific duties and responsibilities:
Finance & Accounting:
Prepare and submit monthly ledgers to the Finance and Admin Coordinator
Prepare monthly cash counts
Financial management, including management of cash flow
Cash box counting according to the DRC financial handbook
Request for money transfer when needed
Administration:
Receive/forward/file correspondence, reply to mails and letters, as per instructions;
Photocopying and other office work.
Ensure proper booking of the inventory;
Follow up on staff HR requirements (Business Cards, Ids, contracts, ToRs...)
Supervising general administration of the Office
Reporting:
Collect and file all progress reports from the operations/ field staff.
Assist the Project Manager in preparing financial reports
Submit progress and status reports to the Project Manager.
Assist the Project Manager in following up staff recruitment
Personnel:
Follow up and track staff leave and vacations and report it
Follow up on staff time sheets and donor allocation
Follow up staff leaves and vacations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Relevant university degree; finance, accounting, administration etc…
Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
NGO experience
Required Skills:
Good communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills Commitment to the values, vision and mission of DRC
Good computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel…)
Self-motivated and strong team spirit
Well-developed organizational and planning skills
Ability to speak, read and write Arabic and English
Excellent Arabic and English writing skills
Conditions: DRC offers a competitive local salary and benefits package. The position will require full presence in the North, in Bekaa, or in Beirut from Monday till Friday, in addition to weekends when needed.
