Advocacy Expert

LTA seeks an advocacy expert to write its civil society advocacy handbook.  At a minimum, the handbook will meet the following criteria: Provide real-world examples, lessons learned, and case studies, outlining successful advocacy strategies and methodologies that have been used in the region and around the world, Provide real-world examples, lessons learned, and case studies, outlining successful advocacy strategies and methodologies vis-à-vis advocacy rules and regulations within the Lebanese context, Illustrate the experience of business associations elsewhere in the region that have developed national business agendas, including the work of CIPE partners in Jordan, Egypt, and Tunisia, Detail, by way of example, the process of building the Lebanese Anti-Bribery Network’s (LABN) three-year advocacy strategy, Provide readers with step-by-step instructions for how to develop a successful advocacy strategy, including: Forming an advocacy or government affairs committee Identifying issues Researching proposed solutions Developing the overall advocacy strategy Developing targeted advocacy materials Providing readers with step-by-step instructions for how to implement a successful advocacy strategy, including: Applying strategic tools, including coalition-building Prioritizing time-sensitive issues Establishing a budget Evaluation Informing the overall conduct of strategic, targeted advocacy campaigns to bring specific issues, legislative reforms, or regulatory changes to the attention of relevant policymakers. The handbook will be made available in Arabic, French, and English, and 1,000 copies of each language will be printed.  The handbook, in all three languages, will be made available on the LTA and CIPE websites.    QUALIFICATIONS:  At least 6 years of experience in public policy research, development, and advocacy, Excellent research and analytical skills, Professional-level proficiency in verbal and written English, French and Arabic.
