Information Management Assistant

The role of the Information Assistant is to support the delivery of Save the Children Lebanon program Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) strategy, policy and practice by dissemination of data, and coordinate information management and reporting systems at the field level.  The Information Assistant will also support the M&E Coordinator in developing and improving monitoring, evaluation, impact assessment and learning methodologies, technical advice and knowledge sharing, and identifying potential new programme areas. The delivery of an effective Monitoring & Evaluation function will play a key role in the expansion of Save the Children programmes in the North, Bekaa, Tripoli and Beirut to increase impact and enable positive change for children. The Information Assistant will report to the M&E Coordinator and Field Manager, and will be responsible to: Supporting the development of systems and processes for the implementation of  the output tracker system, M&E policy and procedure based on Save the Children best practice, developing frameworks to integrate impact assessment and learning and knowledge management into the programme and project cycle; Maintaining a tracking spreadsheet for M&E activities and events at the field level – baselines, assessments, reviews, evaluations – tracking trends and recommendations, progressing their implementation where appropriate; Ensuring internal reporting schedules & templates are used whilst clarifying to field staff what level of information is needed and where. Your particular focus will be on ensuring SC and donor indicators are measured for the OUTPUT tracker. Review the quality of existing project data, information collection methods and the suitability of the existing data for the provision of sound baseline information; this will require substantial data input. Assist in the capacity building of implementing partners to collect data. This will require coordination with partners to ensure they use standardized SC data collection tools. Also ensure there is a clear mapping and schedule of program activities per implementing partner. Assist with compliance assessments of SC CFS centres and schools. Assist in the implementation of a beneficiary accountability system at the field level.

• High school degree or four years of experience in an NGO setting.
• Minimum one year practical experience in M&E system coordination/implementation in a large international non-governmental organisation or other international relief/development body;
• Previous NGO experience in data collection and management and demonstrable track-record in quality control.
• Well-developed analytical (qualitative and quantitative), documentation, report-writing and strategic planning skills, with particular competency in participatory research methods;
• Computer literacy, particularly in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
• Excellent planning, coordination, and reporting skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English and Arabic, with experience working in multicultural, multi location, values driven teams;
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic
• Willingness to work and travel in often difficult and insecure environments;
• Commitment to Save the Children International s global policies and values.
Desirable:
• University degree in social sciences, social work, social administration, development studies or other relevant academic discipline
• Background of implementing effective M&E systems in emergency responses
