Community Mobilizer

The Community Mobilizer will support the implementation of the emergency shelter project in its different response. Under the supervision of the Field Manager and the Shelter Officer, the Community Mobilizer will: Work on the social evaluation of each family living in the units ready to be rehabilitated; Participate to the information campaign about the program, and to the general assessment before starting the rehabilitation work; Be in charge of organizing the meetings (planning, group…), and mobilizing the community regarding our shelter services Follow up Quick Fixing Kits distribution according of beneficiaries list prepared. Assist Shelter Officer in procurement and logistics. Assist the Shelter Officer during the work meetings; Assist the Technical Shelter Assistant in the monitoring of the emergency shelter rehabilitation program by solving the problems that could occur with the beneficiaries or with the skilled workers in charge of the emergency repair; Be in charge of the implementation of surveys (questionnaire) elaborated by Save the Children. Participate to the impact and satisfaction survey; Report every day the problems to the program responsible; Be involved in any evaluation on field survey implemented by Save the Children during its contract; Fill out a database of beneficiaries, and any other data requirement by the shelter sector based on save the children M&E standards. Refer to the Shelter Officer any CP concerns identified in the field. Provide weekly reports to Shelter Officer. Assist in any additional tasks assigned by the field manager or the shelter officer that are in line with his job profile.

• Degree in Social Work (desirable), or teaching
• Experience in working with at-risk children and families
• Experience in emergency shelter program
• Experience in community mobilisation and conducting outreach activities
• Understanding of social welfare systems and child protection mechanisms
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, Desirable Fair English
• Computer knowledge (word, excel, …)
• Excellent contact and diplomacy to manage relationship in tensed situation;
• Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work flexible hours in the event of major emergencies
• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches
• Ability to capitalise on past experience and information available within the organisation in order to become autonomous quickly;
• Ability to take initiative where appropriate to deal with difficulties encountered in daily work;
