Project background information
Première Urgence - Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious humanitarian NGO. Its objective is to bring about a global response to the basic needs of populations suffering from acute humanitarian crisis and to allow them to recover their autonomy and dignity. Today, PU-AMI is intervening in 19 countries in Africa, the Near East, Caucasus, Asia and the Caribbean to cover the needs of populations affected by conflict, natural disasters or economic crises.
PU-AMI has been active in Lebanon since 2001 implementing emergency and recovery projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, in Shelter Rehabilitation and in Livelihood Recovery sectors.
PU-AMI is launching a project in support of the areas affected by Syrian refugees’ influx in Akkar District. The project includes shelter rehabilitation works and sanitation activities. This project is funded by the Humanitarian Aid and Civil protection department of the European Commission (ECHO).

OBJECTIVES
The overall objectives are:
- Check and collect the information needed for the project good implementation
- Ensure the field researches about suppliers, quotations, distribution
- Ensure the distribution of the items to the beneficiaries
- Follow up the cars and transportation
- Attend the base and program meetings
- Report to base logistic on the achieved activities and the projected ones
TASKS & RESPONSABILITIES
Procurement and distribution phase
- Quotation request sending and collection to the suppliers identified in the catalogue;
- Inform the suppliers about our conditions: payments, delivery, warranty and VAT exemption;
- Attend the selection committee and share his field experience with the suppliers to help making the best decision;
- Ensure purchase contract signing with the selected supplier;
- Prepare and implement the distribution with the field officer (work place ready, electricity available, way to reach the work place…) and the supplier;
- Identify and try to give solutions concerning any problems (distribution, tools, etc.) and report to Logistic officer.
Cars and Transportation
- Follow up the maintenance of the cars.
- Follow up transportation of PU-AMI staff.
Coordination and reports
- Attend the base and program daily meetings;
- Report weekly to the Logistic officer on activities achieved and projected;
- Ensure a very close coordination with the team members: technical specifications changes, prices changes, distribution plans update, technical problems follow up…
