DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interviews teacher candidates and makes recommendations for staffing.
Makes effort to retain Ayadina teachers
Recruits students to the program
Links with neighboring schools to promote Ayadina
Organizes teacher training when needed
Works closely with the teachers and is responsible for providing leadership
Develops the schedule for all courses
Oversees the implementation of the different art courses
Establishes best practices for teachers in the program
Meets with all teachers individually on a regular basis and conducts teacher meetings three times a year
Establishes rules of conduct for the children in the program
Makes sure that individual student progress is regularly assessed by the teacher using agreed upon assessment tools
Observes classes for their effectiveness and presents monthly informal reports to the operations manager, three times a year formal reports to the sponsors of the different courses and a formal annual evaluation to the Board of Directors
Follows up student attendance and makes efforts to prevent student drop outs
Ensures that adequate records are kept of all program activities
Ensures that all programs have the necessary resources
Presents an annual budget to the Board of Directors upon assessing program needs
Has regular contacts with, and acts as, a resource person for the Ayadina parents
Encourages parent involvement
Works with the operations manager and her assistant in the event management of various Ayadina Association events in terms of logistics, ticketing, and disseminating event-related information
Promotes a positive image of the Ayadina Fine and Performing Arts Program
Other related duties as mandated by the Operations Manager
