Elearning Specialist / Ict Consultant

This position is a freelance consultancy position. Consultant to be responsible for overall ICT service & support, set-up and maintenance of all internet & intranet pages, including our eLearning platform, plus any other ICT duties essential to the smooth running of the AltCity team’s work. Work Hours: Flexible and part-time. To be discussed and agreed upon with consultant. Preference to someone who will be based at AltCity while doing other freelance/contract work, in order to be on-hand for urgent issues that arise. A custom work-plan and task-based payment schedule will be agreed upon with the selected consultant before work begins. Main Tasks: maintain and update AltCity’s website (basic front-end, back-end, and server-side) and provide basic Wordpress training for the team to make basic updates and changes to the site develop and maintain AltCity’s eLearning platform (based on BuddyPress / WordPress) develop and maintain an internal audio streaming system via intranet (precise method to be determined)   set up, monitor, and provide reliable service for the internet network for AltCity set up and provide basic problem-solving support for computers for the AltCity team provide basic IT support for co-workers on an on-going basis participate in other fun/exciting projects that emerge! (on a case-by-case basis) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 3-4 years’ experience working on technology, office networks, and/or other back-end ICT activities proven knowledge and experience of establishing and maintaining WordPress sites proven knowledge and experience of establishing and maintaining an eLearning site university degree in computer engineering desirable ability to communicate in Arabic and English effectively (written & spoken) ability to multitask detail-oriented ability to meet deadlines enthusiastic, dynamic, and reliable enthusiasm and knowledge in open source tech (online, offline, hardware)   a hacker, maker, DIY spirit with a passion for excellence
