Volunteering Opportunity

Amel Association is a non-governmental organization established in 1979. Through its 23 centers across Lebanon, Amel Association provides access to health care services and implements development programs targeting underprivileged populations, regardless of their nationality or political and religious affiliations. Amel Association also aims to strengthen the culture of rights among citizens, refugees and migrants and promote access to their rights and their involvement in public life. Amel Association started the program of Migrant Domestic workers since 2011 trying to decrease the violations for this fragment of society. This includes efforts to raise awareness to human rights law and clarifying the duties and responsibilities of both the employer and employee in Lebanon to decrease violations and abuse. The works have started by coordinating with all INGOSs and NGOs working with MDWs in Lebanon and constantly contacting governmental organization. Working with MDWs is a holistic approach of Advocacy, provision of services and raising awareness. Within the MDW program, Amel is conducting weekly activities for the support of MDWs through English classes, capacity building activities, awareness raising activities, therapy and entertainment. This includes cases facing violence and a team of therapists available. The volunteering opportunity is to support the English classes in teaching, co-teaching, supporting the coordination of the activities and conducting entertaining activities. The availability is requested for every Sunday from 11:00 till 2:00 in the center of Ain el Remmaneh.
