Database Manager

Project background information   Première Urgence - Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious humanitarian NGO. Its objective is to bring about a global response to the basic needs of populations suffering from acute humanitarian crisis and to allow them to recover their autonomy and dignity. Today, PU-AMI is intervening in 19 countries in Africa, the Near East, Caucasus, Asia and the Caribbean to cover the needs of populations affected by conflict, natural disasters or economic crises. PU-AMI has been active in Lebanon since 2001 implementing emergency and recovery projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, in Shelter Rehabilitation and in Livelihood Recovery sectors. PU-AMI is launching a project in support of the areas affected by Syrian refugees’ influx in Akkar District. The project includes shelter rehabilitation works and sanitation activities. This project is funded by the Humanitarian Aid and Civil protection department of the European Commission (ECHO).   Objectives   The Database Manager is responsible for the design of database tools and the feeding of all data collected at base level. He / She is responsible for the supervision of the Data Entry Officer. He / She participate in the design and improvement of the data entry tools at base level. He/She participates in the overall IT activities at base level.     Tasks and Responsibilities   Participate in the design of different databases and propose technical solutions for consolidation of all data related to the project implementation and base functioning Key in data gathered in the field by the field officers Supervise all the work of the Data Entry Officer under his responsibility (planning, quality control, evaluation…) Translate data from Arabic into English (if the need be) Enforce the correct archiving of the documents Enter and manage data regarding all implemented projects (beneficiaries, bills of quantities, etc.) In charge of data back up for the base and for the mission if needed Provide any help on the base on computer and network matters

General Requirements:


 Compulsory qualifications
• Very good typing speed
• Proven excellent experience in design of database tools on Access and similar other software
• University Degree or Technical Diploma in a computer-related field
• Excellent Computer Skills, including high level mastery of Excel
• Fluency in English (reading/writing)
• Fluency in Arabic

 Wished qualifications
• Statistical analysis software (SPSS or equivalent)
• Experience in mapping software (ArcGIS, Google Earth…)
• Experience in an NGO / Private organization
