Program Title: Comprehensive Iraqi Refugee Assistance Program
Tasks & Responsibilities:
The social worker will be an essential source of providing accurate referrals when need be; i.e., the social worker/ case manager will refer patients and clients to IMC supported clinics, hospitals, and centers; in addition to other local NGOs and INGOs.
The social worker will be in-charge of dispensing information about returns to Iraqi refugees and families wanting to know more about the correct procedures and required documents needed to commence the process of returning back to their native land.
Liaising with, and making referrals of specific cases to IMC
Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports for proper information flow and legal action;
Participating in training, supervision and team meetings.
Identify families or individuals in need of psychosocial support or counseling through home visits to Iraqi refugee households.
Collect information about visited vulnerable families through interviews, observation, and tests carried out via outreach home visits.
Encourage families to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives, and help them to develop insight into themselves and their relationships.
Recruit Iraqi and Lebanese caregivers through clinic based work and outreach support to families, for participating in Early Childhood Development Program.
Recruit Iraqi and Lebanese youth through clinic based work and outreach support to families, for participating in Youth Empowerment Program.
Work together with clinic psychologist on facilitating the Youth Empowerment Program sessions based in the South of Lebanon.
Complete well being and functioning scales and other documentation as necessary.
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team if mental health professionals
Partake in weekly team technical meetings to discuss cases and develop care plans.
Reporting:
Submitting the following reports to IMC Psychosocial Field Officer at the end of each month: The Case Manager Report; The Narrative Report [includes number of beneficiaries and house-visits conducted]; and Other reports requested by the IMC Psychosocial Field Officer
Qualifications: • Minimum 2 – 3 years in the field of social work • Previous NGO experience is a plus • Fluent in Arabic – English is a plus • Adheres to ethical considerations and principles in regards to working with vulnerable populations.
