Caseworker Job Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION Resettlement Support Center Turkey & Middle East serves as a regional office for the United States Refugee Resettlement and Cultural Orientation Program in the region. ICMC Beirut operates the US Resettlement Program in Lebanon and operates in a dynamic work environment. Job descriptions/duties may change as operational needs decrease or increase. Resettlement Support Center ICMC Beirut staff are employed on a casual hire basis. ICMC is an international non-governmental organization serving and protecting uprooted people–refugees, internally displaced persons and migrants–regardless of faith, race, ethnicity or nationality. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:  Under the overall supervision of the Processing Supervisor and the direct supervision of the In-Processing Supervisor, the Caseworker will perform the following functions: Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and implement policies in accordance with US Department of State/Bureau of Population, Refugees & Migration (DOS/PRM) guidelines for United States Refugee Admission Program (USRAP) Prepare refugee files for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), following guidelines set forth by USRAP Conduct interviews with refugee applicants in a dignified and professional manner Record refugee statements by writing factual, neutral case histories that capture each applicant's individual persecution story Accurately record all biographic data and family relationships for all refugee applicants Complete data entry for cases using Worldwide Refugee Admissions Processing System (WRAPS) Translate, scan, and photocopy all documents required for each refugee file for the purpose of case preparation and/or employment verification Perform other duties or special assignments as may be assigned to ensure efficient processing and operation of the Resettlement Support Center Refugee Resettlement Program Adhere to ICMC’s standard operating procedures, code of conduct, and security protocols EDUCATION: Post Secondary degree or equivalent work experience QUALIFICATIONS and KEY COMPETENCIES: Excellent command of Arabic and English, both written and verbal Additional languages are an asset  Strong writing, organizational and time management skills Ability to follow directions and implement policies and procedure with a positive and receptive attitude Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access  Strong interpersonal skills Respect for diversity Ability to work effectively under stress within a multicultural team environment Previous work experience with refugee populations is highly desirable
