Social Worker

Terre des hommes Foundation (Lausanne) is implementing a project entitled “Protection of extremely vulnerable Palestinian children in Lebanon”. The project is in need of one social worker who will work in Palestinian camps and gatherings in the area of Tyre. The social worker will sign and adhere to Tdh’s Child protection policy. The social worker will work in case management of targeted children and child protection resources networking. He/she should have a background/experience in social work and or child protection.    Responsabilities: Case Management: -     Assume primary case management responsibility to project targeted children. -     Ensure that risk assessment, case mapping and exit planning is conducted. -     Ensure a prompt and timely response to children determined and identified at ‘high risk’ through project activities. -     Promote, ensure and establish the child as a central actor in case management practices. -     Link the child, his/her family and community to child protection resources and networks of assistance. -     Attend and participate in regular case management meetings. -     Ensure data is collected and collated to prove the achievement of project objectives. -     Maintain case management files to a high standard, complete with up-to-date information. -     Act in the best interest of the child.  Child Protection Resources: -     Identify and liaise with local resources for referral of cases -     Promote, facilitate, coach and when necessary deliver training to child protection resources -     Assist in the coordination and delivery of community child protection awareness raising events. -     Assist in the production of a referral pathway tool, clearly identifying both formal and informal child protection resources. Requirements: Social work understanding/experience and experience with children Openness to working with Palestinian communities Driver’s license Computer and communication skills Fluent Arabic, good English level (written, reading and writing)  The position will start as of March 1st, 2012.
