Media Intern

Intro about AltCityAltCity is a new social venture based in Beirut, Lebanon. We aim to radically expand access to the tools, resources, and spaces that enable innovative, creative, high impact, and socially-relevant media and entrepreneurial initiatives. Job description The AltCity media intern will play a key role in our upcoming training project for innovative, socially relevant start-ups, both for-profit and non-profit. The intern will assist specifically with media and research elements of the training project. The intern will be responsible for: - Assisting with coordination of the training program - Researching media-related topics  (basic social media, writing for the web, online campaining, online marketing, basics of journalism writing...etc. that will be used to prepare training module(s) - Translating materials from Arabic to English and English to Arabic - Editing/proofreading documents - Helping with outreach and recruitment - Write a minimum of two posts per week to go on hibr.me and altcity.me websites - Monitoring the project's milestone and deadlines, including calendar management - Drafting relevant content for the AltCity newsletter and other promotional materials   Duration: Full-time (Monday-Friday) internship for three months, which may be extended for an additional two months.   Effective supervision: Quality supervision with constructive feedback is an essential element for effective learning and mutual understanding. Each intern will be assigned a mentor, who will oversee his/her work and development.   -  Mentor will provide intern with detailed instructions and information about the work he/she will be doing, including specific tasks.   - Mentor & intern will meet weekly (at a minimum) to monitor interns’ progress, address intern's questions and provide him/her with constructive feedback on his/her performance and outputs. - Mentor will provide intern with a certificate and letter of recommendation upon successful completion of internship.
