Dot Uae Program Manager (Ibm Corporate Service Corps Project)

IBM has developed a new employee leadership initiative called the Corporate Service Corps (CSC). The CSC initiative will gather teams of IBM volunteer executives, drawn from different countries and business units and place them in six priority emerging markets to tackle important social and economic issues in collaboration with NGO partners around the world. The CSC Program in UAE will support IBM and DOT’s mutual objectives of contributing to social and economic development in UAE. IBM leaders will work on assignments that tackle economic, societal and educational challenges, while at the same time experiencing a diverse cultural perspective and enhancing their skills and leadership competencies. Potential CSC Program assignments correspond, but are not limited to the following priority areas: 1) support to national development strategies/plans: 2) İT and e-government policy and strategies: 3) community based economic and social development; 4) entrepreneurship and small business support and training; 4) youth and NGO collaboration The Program Manager will assume a key role within the management team for IBM CSC program. The Program Manager will provide leadership and assume responsibility in the following areas: 1) Leading the planned expansion of IBM’s Corporate Service Corps (CSC) Program in UAE (implemented by DOT) 2) Ensuring Operational Impact of Programs and Monitoring and Evaluation 3) Facilitating knowledge sharing and coordination within the IBM and DOT international networks and regional/international program networks. Duty Station & Reporting Duty Station: Home Office with Flexible location (in any UAE Emirate) however during the IBM team deployment period regular on site visits to Sharjah and Al Ain is required (40 days/year) Reporting: The Program Manager will report directly to a team of CSC Senior Advisors and also have a reporting relationship with DOT Vice-President (Istanbul, Turkey). Duties and Responsibilities The key responsibilities of the Program Manager will include: 1. Implementation and Communications a. Manages overall operations and in-country implementation of IBM Corporate Service Corps (CSC) Program in UAE. Specific responsibilities include: participation in selection of cities for program (with Senior Advisors) deployments, management of relationships with host partner organizations in selected cities (with Senior Advisors), participation in development of detailed Statements of Work for IBM assignments (with Senior Advisors), management of briefing, logistics and socio-cultural program and overall promotion and execution in-country CSC program experience in UAE. b. Active team member in DOT’s liaison with senior IBM CSC executive managers in Dubai (UAE) re planning and contribution to the CSC Program Pre-Service and Post-Service work experiences for each of the CSC team deployments. Responsible for weekly scorecard input for UAE during the Pre-Service (3 months) and deployment period (1 month) and follow up (2 months) c. Active team member in planning and coordinating DOT input into IBM communications, knowledge sharing and security strategies for the IBM CSC program. d. Builds and manages relationships with key IBM CSC program stakeholders (both at regional/national level) e. Develops a Communications strategy for DOT (in consultation with Senior Advisors and IBM UAE and regional office) to raise awareness of the program in UAE and helps communications activities / events of the CSC program in UAE led and organized by IBM UAE (if any communications events are planned by IBM) f. Leads the DOT communications (both online and offline) and responsible for content management and news updates on DOT online platforms related to CSC UAE Program; DOT Global, DOT UAE and DOT CSC-ESC website as well as other social media platforms. g. Active team member and country lead in Global corporate volunteering initiatives of DOT in UAE 2. Operational Impact and Monitoring & Evaluation a. Responsible for operational impact of Programs (i.e. CSC program, Identifies budget, personnel and risk issues as they arise and provides recommendations to Senior Advisors to address operational issues b. Ensure Program plans and targets are met (CSC Program,) ensures successful delivery of Programs; reviews progress frequently and prepares required progress reports for DOT/İBM c. Regularly communicates to Senior Advisors and DOT Vice President to provide program updates, as well as act as a point of contact for Program partners. 3. Knowledge Sharing and Coordination a. Participate in bi-monthly DOT regional and international management team knowledge sharing and coordination meetings (as UAE country lead) b. Participate in DOT regional or international knowledge sharing events and workshops (contingent on available funding) c. Develop options for deepening and expanding the Program partnership in UAE and with DOT’s planned launch of its community-based economic programs in UAE Preferred skills, qualifications, experience, and language requirements  Degree in business, economics, international development, international relations or another relevant field, with strong academic performance. Preferably Master’s degree in business, social sciences and/or computer science or related field At least five successful years experience formally managing Programs or projects Trained in project / program management methodologies Has managed teams of ten or larger on programs longer than one year Background includes detailed budget management & measurement reporting Ability to broker and convene productive coalitions between business, government and development partners, experience in building strategic relationships and networks (in UAE and internationally) Excellent relationship management, communication and analytic skills, Experience with ICT for development Programs Sound understanding of economic and business development situation in UAE Strong commitment to community development, youth, disadvantaged groups and micro-enterprise development Fluent in English  The following would be strong assets:  On-the-ground experience related to issues of economic development and entrepreneurship Highly motivated, strong work ethic and desire/ability to develop new programs Good coach, skills transfer, detailed, dedicated, problem solver, risk manager, prioritization, interested in Flexible work arrangements Interest/desire to collaborate with other countries/programs internationally  The candidate should be living in the UAE
