AMIDEAST/Lebanon is recruiting a Program Associate for the English Access Microscholarship Program (Access). This U.S. Department of State program provides two-year scholarships for underprivileged youth to learn English and participate in cultural activities in an afterschool program. Currently, there are Access classes in 58 villages in all regions of Lebanon.
Position Description
The Program Associate would be part of the English Access Microscholarship program team responsible for ensuring AMIDEAST’s successful implementation of the Access program, which is currently serving almost 1,200 scholarship recipients in 58 towns. The Program Associate will handle various responsibilities, which include:
Reproducing and distributing curriculum, collecting and tallying attendance and grade sheets, assisting with event planning, scheduling and coordinating activities for the Program Manager, and placing vendor requests
Answering telephone calls, assisting visitors, and resolving and referring a range of administrative inquiries or problems; preparing, transcribing, composing, typing, editing, and distributing agendas, minutes of meetings, event summaries, and other program documents; and composing, preparing, or ensuring timely responses to diverse routine written inquiries
Communicating and coordinating with teachers to follow up on payments and attendance sheets, and maintaining student program enrollment data
Assisting and responding to inquiries from Access teachers about navigating AMIDEAST’s Learning Management System (LMS)
Managing program information and data entry to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
Arranging any necessary logistics for workshops; administering and proctoring standardized tests for program participants; and serving as a co-trainer or trainer for designated topics if requested to do so
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, English, or related field
1-3 years of experience in an administrative or coordination role in Education
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, and communication skills
High attention to detail
Ability to multitask
Excellent computer skills including MS Office; high proficiency in Excel is required
Willingness to travel to class sites all over Lebanon
Willingness to work on weekends, as needed, for cultural activities or meetings
Experience conducting training for youth groups preferred
Lebanese citizenship
Fluency in English and Arabic is a must
Available to start work immediately
