Programmes Coordinator

Mission of the position: The Programmes Coordinator works with all programmes staff help ensure that a high quality of care is provided to children through programme development, proposal writing, reporting, research, advocacy and capacity building.He conducts desk research, shares and documents good practices during programme visits, coordinates knowledge management and internal communication.

 

Key performance areas and main responsibilities:

 

  • Conducts desk research on different topics related to the programme area (alternative care, child protection, youth integration…)
  • Shares information within the Programme function about innovative programme approaches and supports the documentation of such approached, good practices and lessons learnt
  • Support in the development of various tools and policy support documents in English, French and Arabic language
  • Support in the organization of meetings and conferences (virtual and face to face)
  • Participates in global projects/networks as requested.
  • Writes proposal related to development of new programmes. Proposals can be presented both internally or externally depending on type of programme and potential funding opportunities
  • Reports on programmes, this includes collecting statistics on activities and number of beneficiaries(FBC, Child protection, Education), activity reports for PSA donors, contributing to the annual report
  • Leads advocacy work and carries out related necessary research within the framework of the UNCRC
  • Promotes SOS Children’s Villages’ mission and values in external forums
  • Elaborates strategies and programs related to the training and evaluation and ongoing development of SOS mothers and SOS aunts
  • Coordinates with the National Director and Village Director to offer adequate pedagogical support according to the needs of each SOS mother
  • Organises SOS mother training program to ensure that SOS mothers are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high quality care and enable the development of the children in their care.
