Field Activity Coordinator

Skoun is a non-profit making, non-political and non-sectarian Lebanese organization created in 2001 and legally registered in 2003. Skoun's scope of work is focused on three main areas of interest: Treatment,Prevention  and Advocacy.

 

Project Name: Young People and Drugs, New Participatory Approach for Lebanon
Project Location: Greater Beirut and the areas of Saida, Sour, Tripoli, and Kesserwan

 Project Objectives: The overall objective of the project is to improve CSOs and governmental organizations capacities to address problems related to drug use among young people in Lebanon, looking at participatory approaches in policy development, improved and more coordinated services, and on evidence-based interventions promoting the health and human rights of young people.
Background: The lead applicant, Skoun Lebanese Addictions Center (Skoun), together with the co-applicant Soins Infirmiers et Dévelopement Communautaire (SIDC), are the leading NGOs working in Lebanon, both in the provision of services and in driving policy change and capacity building of other civil society organizations’ (CSOs), in Lebanon and in the Middle East region. The present project stems from an analysis of the weaknesses in the policy framework and the gaps in the provision of prevention, treatment and care services for people who use drugs – in particular young people - in Lebanon.


 Objectives: Field activity Coordinator in close coordination with the Project coordinator will be responsible for the following:

  • Prepare the field work activity plan for all phases (planning, methodology, development and implementation) .
  • Prepare and perform activity meetings.
  • Recruit peer workers in coordination with SIDC (outreach team and mapping activity).
  • Prepare require education materials.
  • Organize the trainings and follow-up sessions with Peer workers.
  • Develop reports regarding the status of the assigned activity team leader & peer workers on a regular basis.
  • Assess regularly the field team performance, needs, and eventual gaps during the field work activity implementation, and establish corrective measures through proposing new interventions.
  • Support the field teams through the development of a technically sound work plan consistent with the goals and objectives of the activity,
  • Ensure a timely and high quality implementation of the work plan, in coordination with the field team.
