Projects and Research Officer
Job Description
Responsibility
The Projects and Research Officer is responsible for the following:
- Collecting and analyzing data for SANAD’s research studies, under the supervision of the Principal Investigators of the corresponding studies
- Identifying and managing priority palliative care and hospice care research plans and projects with the different partners (volunteers, interns, and outsourced researchers)
- Providing the multidisciplinary team with relevant reference material needed to improve SANAD’s support to patients and their families
- Contributing to the development of palliative and hospice care related training material for SANAD’s staff and other key stakeholders in the field
- Supporting SANAD in the development of national palliative care projects
Functions
The Projects and Research Officer will be working on the following:
Information and Research:
- Develop and monitor patient data collection and generate patient related statistics
- Report on statistics in official annual reports, presentations and articles
- Develop research plans and projects on palliative and hospice care related topics
- Contribute to the development of articles and informational material for awareness raising and advocacy initiatives
Projects, Partnerships and Collaborations:
- Support SANAD in its collaboration with academic institutions on research projects in palliative care
- Support SANAD in developing partnerships with community based organizations on palliative care related projects
- Develop proposals for donors to fund projects and initiatives carried out by SANAD
Monitoring, Evaluation and Internal Development
- Develop standardized methods of monitoring and evaluating SANAD’s home hospice care support
- Support the medical, nursing, mental health teams in providing resources, updates and technical support from the literature
- Identify capacity building opportunities for team members
Qualifications
- Holder of a bachelor degree in a related health field (A Master degree is a plus).
- At least 3 years of experience in a related health field; specifically in data collection, desk and field research, documentation, and report writing. (Preferably with nursing background)
- Knowledgeable of quantitative research methodologies.
- Skills in administrative performance, which includes communication, both written and oral and organizational skills.
- Flexible, proactive, problem solver, trustworthy, and willing to accommodate for difficult and unexpected situations.
- Fluent in Arabic and English. French is an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of basic computer software such as Word and Excel.
