UTOPIA for Social Justice is a non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to abolishing all types of social discrepancies through specialized projects and programs that rely on voluntary work, in hopes of acquiring social justice among people within the same society regardless of their political or religious beliefs. To achieve our mission, we invest in the following programs: Community Service; Youth Empowerment; Women Empowerment; Child Development; and Advocacy.

About the Position

Under the supervision of the Project Manager and working with different department heads, the Proposal Writer will work to secure funding for Utopia. Specific duties include:

• Identify grant opportunities through major databases
• Perform research
• Prepare grant proposals
• Meet (often tight) deadlines
• Promote NGO through public relations work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, writing, communication, social sciences, or related field and two (2) years writing experience OR two (2) years college-level coursework
• Demonstrated experience working with an NGO
• Demonstrated experience with extensive research to support claims and projects
• Excellent grammar and writing skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Proficient in English (essential) and Arabic (desired)
• Willing to drive to Tripoli 3 times a week
