Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified candidate who would like to work with DRC as Livelihood Officer in Bekaa-Arsal area.

DRC will be establishing a Livelihood center in Arsal under DANIDA E project, serving as venue for the DRC’s livelihoods activities (Life skills, Soft Skills, Vocational Trainings, Cash for Work).
The Livelihoods Officer will be responsible for interviewing the beneficiaries in the Livelihoods center, providing employment counseling and guidance, and helping in the implementation of the skills development and vocational trainings. S/he will be responsible for providing ongoing mentoring and following up with beneficiaries enrolled in the programme. In case of implementation through a local partner, He/She will also be responsible for coordinating and following up with the partner.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
• Organize and hold sessions, in both host and refugee community, to introduce the project, eligibility criteria and point of contact with DRC;
• Support in setting up the Livelihoods center in Arsal;
• Gather information on the local context, target communities and employers to assist the Livelihoods Manager in selecting market-oriented skills development courses that match the needs of employers and market in Arsal;
• Provide counseling services on life skills, soft skills, vocational training and cash for work opportunities; and match job seekers with trainings and cash for work opportunities;
• Supervise the delivery of skills development trainings, based on direction and curriculum developed by DRC or partners;
• In case of implementation through a local partner, follow up with the partner and supervise their implementation, ensuring that all logistical arrangements are taken into consideration and that beneficiaries attend regularly;
• Organize and assist in data collection and analysis for beneficiary and community selection, as well as for monitoring and evaluation of all training. Ensure that beneficiaries’ selection is in full compliance with DRC procedures, pre-established vulnerability criteria;
• Keep track and produce reports on results of counseling sessions; and work on information systems/database to record relevant data of beneficiaries;
• Collaborate with the Monitoring and Evaluation team in their M&E activities and share timely information with them;
• Establish and maintain contact and productive working relationships with community representatives, local and international organizations, jobseekers/beneficiaries and employers as related to life skills development;
• Create linkages with DRC’s protection team and activities as well as with other actors delivering life skills and livelihood activities;
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have Bachelor degree in Social Sciences, Human Resources, Social Work or equivalent. we also expect the following:
Required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in implementation of livelihoods projects;
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Good experience in counseling
• Experience in working with local and implementing partners
• Good computer skills
• Previous experience in supervising staff
Desirable
• Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts
• Fluency in Arabic
• English: Good written and spoken

We offer
Contract length: 12-month contract, pending funds approval
Level: C1 equivalent to 1650 USD/month
Duty Station: Bekaa-Arsal
