Communications Officer’s Assistant

Position summary

The Communications Officer’s Assistant will manage the day-to-day communication tasks of RMF projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the NGO communication with different target audiences, including journalists, partners, and the community. He/She will be using written and verbal skills to create corporate communication material and must communicate effectively to reflect the positive work done by the organization, building on its positive reputation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Produce (write - design) and circulate written and visual/multimedia content for email lists, website, and social media networks to raise the visibility of the NGO. Example: press releases, short videos, flyers, brochures, etc.
  • Manage and post this content regularly on RMF Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube or others social media.
  • Draft up to date information for annual reports, speeches, and talking points for meetings as needed.
  • Report and highlight success stories
  • Assist in the design and development of RMF’s newsletter including content generation and pictures
  • Create specific publications, development of innovative public outreach campaigns and management of events in line with RMF and Donors Communications Strategy and work plan
  • Develop promotional material (Brochure, Banners, Site signage, movies, Powerpoint presentations…)
  • Maintain the photo archives/database by collecting or commissioning snapshots of projects'/ activities etc.
  • Plan and manage activities to support the NGO work. Example: campaigns, fundraising events, workshops, exhibitions.
  • Assist in the implementation of the communication strategy for the NGO
  • Work with NGO team members to generate data about various programs/projects for documentation and public dissemination.
  • Act as focal point for inquiries about NGO, directing requests to relevant departments
  • Perform other tasks as seen fit by the Organizational hierarchy/ supervisors.

Education and Experience

Proven experience in relevant in Media, communications, and outreach or in a similar role Experience in NGO work is a plus.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and good multi-tasking skills.

BS/BA or above in Media, Communication Arts, Journalism fields (or equivalent).

Prior similar responsibilities with donor-funded projects.

Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic; French is a plus.

Excellent reporting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
