Position: Preschool Coordinator

Tahaddi is a Lebanese NGO established in 2008 whose aim is to respond to the challenges of extreme poverty by facilitating access to education, health and psychosocial support. Tahaddi principally works in Hay el Gharbeh, Southern Beirut with families facing extreme economic and social hardship. We operate a community-based primary care clinic and a non-formal education center for children who did not access formal education for social and/or economic reasons.

Tahaddi Lebanon is currently searching for a Preschool Coordinator to join their team.

Reports to: Director of the Tahaddi Education Center

Location: Southern Beirut (Hay El Gharbeh)

Work type: Part -time position, 2 days per week (8:00 AM- 3:30 PM)

Job Responsibilities

• Choose or design programs for preschool education;
• Develop, supervise and follow up on the achievements of educators under his/her supervision;
• Organize the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for preschoolers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Take part in interviews of preschool educators and assistants.
• Manage the application process for the preschool program.
• Help set an appropriate class environment for preschoolers, providing advice on equipment and educational needs.
• Meet regularly with educators, providing the needed support and advice, and with other coordinators or therapists, as required.
• Coordinate professional development for preschool educators.
• Help develop educators’ level of competency in planning, setting goals and objectives and preparing weekly lesson plans.
• Coach and undertake classroom visits for educators under his/her supervision.
• Occasionally model a lesson in front of the educators.
• Follow up on educators’ needs of educational resources and material and ensure their timely provision. 
• Organize his/her own resources and keep track of them.
• Evaluate children’s improvements or needs; adjusting programs accordingly.
• Design appropriate report cards and follow up on children’s evaluation with the educators.
