Job Purpose
Plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee the activities and inner-workings of the MCCs. Ensure that program requirements are being met.
Areas of Contribution & Related Accountabilities
MCC management involvement:
The jobholder responsibilities in this area include but are not limited to the following:
Planning, monitoring, and evaluating:
- Plan and prepare yearly and monthly plans for activities, classes and workshops, according to strategies set with directors.
- Collect data from centers to keep track of program and project achievements in comparison with targets, report on these on a monthly basis. Highlight discrepancies and suggest corrective action. Keep records of success stories, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Conduct monthly meetings to prepare detailed action plans for new projects and activities.
- Evaluate the work of team members and volunteers to ensure that programs are of appropriate quality and that resources are used effectively.
- Create and/or maintain documents common to all centers such as: evaluation forms, questionnaires, data collection sheets, etc.
Direct supervision:
- Supervise coordinators' work, handle their requests, and provide assistance with complicated issues when needed.
- Recruit, train, brief and evaluate coordinators when needed.
- Support the sharing of information and knowledge between centers.
- Lead on bi-weekly coordinators' meetings.
Education program:
- Observe teaching methods used in MCC classes and examine learning materials to evaluate and standardize the curricula and teaching methods across classes and centers.
- Manage and oversee the creation of curricula for Arabic and French classes.
- Determine areas where improvement is needed and propose plans of action.
- Standardize and supervise student assessments, pre-tests, post-tests, volunteer training/briefing, and all other procedures that the curriculum entails and that the education program requires. Keep updated data records.
- Ensure that classes are of appropriate quality and that resources are used effectively.
Capacity-Building Program:
- Create and update topic lists for the capacity-building program in coordination with directors and coordinators. This includes training, workshops, information and awareness sessions.
- Coordinate the capacity-building program including but not limited to the identifying and recruiting trainers/speakers, setting schedules, dealing with logistics and payments, preparing evaluation materials, etc.
- Ensure that sessions are of appropriate quality and that resources are used effectively.
- Assist coordinators in the promotion of the sessions at their centers.
Public Relations:
- Represent MCC when needed.
- Handle and/or refer media & interview requests.
- Collect material from centers for ARM’s and MCC’s online pages.
- Liaise with Media & Communications Officer regarding online content for the centers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, community representatives, and other stakeholders, with the objective of raising public awareness of ARM and MCC.
Administrative involvement:
The jobholder responsibilities in this area include but are not limited to the following:
- Handle leave management of the coordinators.
- Handle schedules management of the coordinators.
- Handle timesheets of team members.
- Report on any misconduct or problems with team members.
- Handle petty cash and prepare volunteer stipend payments.

Framework, Boundaries, and Decision Making Authority
The jobholder has the authority to solve minor on-the-spot issue arising with members, assistant coordinators and volunteers; any activity outside the authority of the coordinator should be communicated to the senior Coordinator before any decision is taken.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in humanities, social sciences, NGO management or related fields
- Master’s degree is a plus
- Excellent command of English & Arabic; French is a plus
- Excellent Microsoft Office Skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
