Special Educator

Restart Center is searching for a Part-Time Special Educator who does early screening to children with mild to moderate learning difficulties (LD) and Attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), among the refugee and host communities. The Special Educator will also seek to improve the learning capacity and behavior of children referred from the Public and semi-private schools, or children who have been out of school for less than one year, with the aim of facilitating their integration into the regular school system; through the provision of special education support and comprehensive specialized services and awareness sessions to parents on the management of children with mild to moderate LD and ADHD.

The selected candidate will:

• Operate from the center, under the supervision of a senior special educator at Restart.
• Coordinate with the clinical advisor, the head of clinical operations, the project coordinators, the social workers and the multidisciplinary team regarding tracking beneficiaries’ progress.
• Submit record sheets for each session conducted with the child.
• Submit a discharge plan for each beneficiary who has completed the course of treatment.
• Submit mental health reports concerning some beneficiaries (if requested by Restart Center’s partners).
• Submit tracking sheets on a monthly basis using pre-assigned templates.
• Participate in team meetings, seminars, peer supervisions, case studies and capacity building opportunities.
• Participate in care-for-caregivers activities (including debriefing sessions).
