General Description of Role:
The Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of a short term winter assistance project and a community based education project for children with disabilities. The project manager will work under the overall guidance of the ADRA Lebanon Project Coordinator. He/she will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination of project activities, and monitoring of project results. Specifically, he/she will carry out the following tasks:
- Assist in the set-up and implementation of the project
- Closely monitor project implementation and results
- Prepare project progress reports
- Write up of program briefs, lessons learned, success and human interest stories
- Organizing field visits for donor and embassy representatives
- Represent the project in relevant sector meetings and working groups as needed
- Establish close working relationships with NGOs, INGOs, host government agencies, and U.N. agencies
Other Activities:
- Contribute to strategizing for project expansion
- Identify gaps and collect data in different sectors for the development of future project proposals
- Collect high quality project pictures to be shared for PR and marketing purposes
Required Competencies:
- At least 3 years experience in managing donor-funded projects
- Working experience with an international organization is desirable
- Strong analytical skills and excellent written and oral communication skills in both Arabic and English
- Ability to develop good working relations with a variety of stakeholders
- Flexibility and ability to work within a team and to travel to project sites
