Maths and Science Educator

The Tahaddi Education Center (TEC) provides educational opportunities for at-risk, out of school children in a very poor area of Beirut (behind the Sport City). We are currently looking for a full time Educator in Mathematics and Sciences  for Elementary classes (Grade 1 to 4)

Preference will be given to candidates who have a BA in education or relevant experience in elementary classes. In addition to teaching at the elementary school level, educators will also be involved in other activities such as tutoring children of the community, organizing social activities during the month of July and/or facilitating educational activities with young adults.

Full-time position: Monday – Friday, 8am – 3.30pm

Position Aim:

• Manage and educate groups of children aged 7 to 14 according to the TEC requirements, using exciting methods and instructional materials to meet children’s varying needs and interests.
• Plan, prepare, animate, lead and mediate in a creative way. Write monthly, weekly and daily lesson plans.
•  Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use in learning activities.

• Maintain a safe and positive atmosphere between children.

• Meet regularly with the Coordinator.
• Work effectively with team members.
• Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior and  social development,
• Show self-motivation, enthusiasm and creativity.
• Show patience and demonstrate ability to manage misbehavior using appropriate methods
• Take part in professional development opportunities.
• Organize summer activities during the month of July
