- Be accountable for checking all the content produced is truthful and complies with codes of UNHCR’s brand and guidelines.
- Proofreading and ensuring accuracy of Arabic copy.
- Deliver compelling Arabic content materials on time with input from different stakeholders.
- Provide timely Arabic digital content for emails, social media, and website for the digital team.
Responsibility (process and functions undertaken to achieve results)
- Be an internal Arabic content expert – identify trends and opportunities for UNHCR to innovate in new ways.
- Regularly audit and inventory online content to identify gaps in quality, compliance, standards, and branding.
- Develop content matrices and calendars to track and manage content updates.
- Work closely with the Senior Digital Campaigner Associate and the Assistant Engagement Campaigns Officer to perform A/B testing to determine which variations of copy headline, and other factors are most effective.
- Develop user’s experience depth analysis to ensure using keywords that focus on the user’s needs and create headlines based on what the user is looking for.
- Proactively review PSP MENA’s digital content and recommend usability improvements (content clarity, brevity, calls to action, & streamlined online navigation).
- Work closely with the digital creative team, to develop creative campaign concepts for the Arabic audiences.
- Bring new content ideas and formats of storytelling to UNHCR’S PSP MENA digital hub.
- Write, edit, and oversee the creation of all brand copy, from email to large scale marketing campaigns. This could include marketing campaign copy and tag lines, video scripts, product descriptions, website copy, emails.
- Develop engaging, highly effective, original and targeted digital copies to drive traffic to various micro sites, landing pages for fundraising purposes.
- Develop highly engaging social media content in Arabic (Facebook, Twitter and YouTube).
- Compile text from provided sources with evidence-based information, take data, information, and products from sources and bring them to life creatively, simply and beautifully.
- Work closely with the digital creative team to define the voice of our corporate and product brand/s, and convey this in all content strategies. Ensuring consistent message discipline and alignment with UNHCR’S branding guidelines.
- Keep abreast of current refugee issues, research topics, historic and current events. Develop creative copies that are forward-thinking and in-line with current media trends.
- Provide the LG team campaigns with writing and editing support.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Authority (decisions made in executing responsibilities and to achieve results)
- Elevate UNHCR’s brand voice across all channels and ensure proper usage of brand, voice, and style, as well as organization, grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation in all PSP Arabic digital content.
- Contribute to the evolution and articulation of UNHCR’s brand, voice and identity
- Input into key success metrics and track the reach and effectiveness of our content to engage and inspire different target segments across all channels.
