Responsibilities:
- Translate documents from Arabic to English and vice versa, as required.
- Proofread, edit, and revise translated materials.
- Revise documents for the field (activities materials), for the Headquarters, and for the donors.
- Assist in the production of PowerPoint presentations, posters, tables, graphs, and visual aids.
- Check the translation of technical terms and terminology to ensure that they are accurate and remain consistent throughout the translation, and update in-house lexicons and editorial lines as required.
- Provide consecutive translation during meetings, trainings, etc. as required.
- Perform various assigned duties to balance workload.
- Remain updated on local and regional events and issues, particularly in relation to project activities.
- Be a source of information upon request, e.g. the official terminology used in Beirut, formal titles of institutions and officials locally and internationally, etc.
- Register and treat information (general and specific) accurately and with confidentiality.
- Follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- University degree in translation, languages, journalism, communications, public relations or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Ability to translate accurately from Arabic into English and vice versa.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in common computer applications, including Microsoft Office software.
- Positive and professional attitude, including ability to work well in a team setting.
- Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to details.
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
- Previous experience working with Civil Society Organizations is an asset.
Required Experience:
3 to 5 years of professional experience, preferably with civil society organizations and/or NGOs and INGOs.
