Lebanese Labor Law Associate, USAID BALADI CAP, Beirut, Lebanon

Project Summary: 

BALADI CAP is a six-year, technical assistance program funded by USAID/Lebanon that advances the institutional capacities of Lebanese civil society organizations (CSOs) and municipalities/unions to improve the delivery of services to local citizens.

**Please note: Only Lebanese citizens are eligible for this position.**

Responsibilities:

During the period of performance, the Lebanese Labor Law Associate will perform the following activities in close coordination and cooperation with the BALADI CAP COP and project team:  

  1. Conduct two (2) general trainings on Lebanese Labor Law (LLL). The trainings are expected to cover the following areas, but are not strictly limited to them:
    1. Current LLL & Related Regulations.
    2. The Rights and Obligations of Employers and Employees.
    3. Employee Leave Entitlements (Annual Paid Leave, Leave Without Pay, Sick Leave, Compassionate/Bereavement Leave, Maternity Leave, Paternity Leave, Marriage Leave, and other types of leave.
    4. Employment of Foreigners/non-Lebanese Citizens.
    5. Disciplinary Procedures.
    6. Termination of Employment.
  2. Each training is expected to take up to three (3) workdays, comprised of one (1) day for training preparation and two (2) days for training delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or law degree in law, human resources, public administration, public policy or equivalent professional experience. Master’s or law degree preferred;
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience related to training in the aforementioned training topics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in, and familiarity with, Lebanese labor law.
  • Previous experience working with civil society organizations (preferably, Lebanese CSOs).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience producing professionally written documents in both English and Arabic.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic required.
