Child Protection Officer

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and direction for effective planning, implementation and monitoring of PSS activities provided to vulnerable children/adolescents and their families in community centres and SDCs;
  •  Make frequent centres visits to monitor the implementation of activities, identify opportunities and constraints and any adjustments needed including staff training;
  • Make frequent visits to monitor the implementation of the activities in outreach;
  •  Develop training programmes and assist in capacity building for staff and partners, possibly in priority thematic areas such as CP, psychosocial support, community resilience;
  •  Design a training and capacity building plan for TDH staff including community volunteers, partners, CBOs and LNGOs members and SDCs;
  • Support the Project Manager in budgeting the above-mentioned training plan;
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of staff involved in the psychosocial support activities;
  • Support the Project Coordinator and the Officers in the organization of staff meetings;
  • Design and supervise the Community Outreach intervention (home visits, focus group, community meetings, awareness sessions), ensuring a direct participation of the beneficiaries in the planning of the activities;
  • Empower the field staff trough ToT and/or training on identification of children;
  • Supervise the preparation of special events, recreational, cultural and sport activities together with project staff;
  • Written Report on a monthly basis to the Project Manager and the Child Protection Expert;
  • Support the Project Manager in drafting the quarterly and final reports to be sent to the donors;
  • To closely coordinate with the Coordinator and the CEO to ensure effective delivery of age-appropriate activities in the Community Center/SDCs and MU;
  • Represent the agency/organisation in meetings with other partners and other actors, to advocate and promote programme goals and objectives, and communicate with major partners on policies;
  • Liaise with other agencies/NGOs/government bodies/donors to ensure coordination, implementation of common standards in the field and consideration of protection issues in assistance programs;
  • To comply with the TDH-It Code of Conduct;
  • Any other task relevant to the position;
