Wash Officer (Beirut)

Functions
The Wash Officer shall be responsible for:
-   Supports in the initial assessment and selection of beneficiaries on this project;
-   Accomplishes construction human resource objectives by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
-   Responsible for ensuring high quality visibility and quality of service delivery
-   Meeting operational standards by contributing to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, and resolving problems; identifying system improvements in coordination with management
-   Maintain a close follow up with the Project Manager and Technical Coordinator to ensure proper allocation of resources, proper scheduling and coordination of staff, assets and beneficiaries.
-   Prevents interruptions to service delivery by complying with, and enforcing, procedures, including asset management and maintenance
-   Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
-   Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding demand;
-   Has a good knowledge of geographical area of Beirut;
-   Enhances organization reputation by accepting responsibility for feedback from community and beneficiaries regarding service delivery and sharing with coordination; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Internal Coordination
-   Submit daily activity reports to the line manager;
-   Ensure accuracy of reported data, by following internal guidelines;
-   Refer complaints and delays to relevant ACTED’s staff;
-   Keep line manager and Security officer informed about any security issues. Follow internal security guidelines;
-   Keep an accurate filling system;
-   Participate in internal lessons learned workshops and project feedback.
 
Accountability to Communities and Beneficiaries
The Wash Officer is responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner.  Due attention must be paid to ensuring that communities are adequately consulted and informed about ACTED programme objectives, activities, beneficiary selection criteria, and methodologies.  This is the responsibility of every ACTED staff member.
 
Knowledge, skills
-   At least 1 year minimum experience of management
-   Experience in client and service management (hospitality, etc)
-   Fluent in Arabic, with written and verbal English skills and the ability to work in an international context;
-   Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
-   Knowledge of solid waste management systems and processes considered an asset
-   Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
-   Highly motivated and with a desire to work with local communities;
-   Ability to work with culturally diverse groups of people;
-   Excellent knowledge of Greater Beirut area
Experience working with local authorities and Municipalities will be considered an asset
