Rise Lebanon

About

Story

RISE was launched in 2017 by a group of young Lebanese students who come from a variety of sects and areas in Lebanon, united in their mission to:

  • RESPECT the diversity we have; Lebanon boasts 18 different religious sects with one thing in common: faith.
  • INDIVIDUALITY in a family-centric culture;Recognizing and exploring your individuality does not have to be at odds with your family’s values and beliefs. Additionally, your family values need to not define your individuality.
  • SHOW the love, root out the hate; With all the hate speech both on- and offline, we hope to be a voice for those who encourage unity, peace, and love among the religions.
  • EMPATHY as empowerment; By promoting harmony, understanding, and loving your neighbor, irrespective of religion or sect.

Mission

We are on a mission to change the conversation of interfaith dialogue and understanding between people living in Lebanon. We want to advance the Lebanese multi-religious synergy in support of peace and harmony, and aim to raise awareness, trust, and acceptance irrespective of sect or religion.

About

RISE is a nonprofit movement that aims to change the conversation about the religious difference in Lebanon and tackle online hate speech that every person witnessed at some point.
