Assessor Field Worker (Regarding Child Labor & Drop Outs)

The mission of SHEILD is bringing relief to the population in general and to those who suffered and are still suffering from war and from the absence of governmental health and social care and protection. The methods involve direct assistance as well as community based interventions to enhance human rights, economic conditions, and social integration. A participatory approach is utilized that involves local stakeholders and authorities within a system of coordination to assess needs and subsequently implement programs with high emphasis on the most vulnerable and deprived members of targeted communities.

SHEILD is currently implementing Development and Humanitarian Projects mainly in South Lebanon, Mount Lebanon and Bekaa, including some Palestinian camps and gatherings in the South.

SHEILD is looking for an Assessor Field Worker in the Northern area of Lebanon (Akkar District)

Job Description

Specific Tasks:

• Coordinating with the area coordinator concerning the field visits to be conducted in the selected areas
• Coordinate with local authorities
• Visiting households/targeted population in the assigned locations.
• Conduct field assessment required for Child labor and out of school.
• Collecting data
• Contributing to feed Sheild database by providing the needed information for the assessments
• Managing the need assessment process with the area coordinator
• Conducting regular meetings with the area coordinator to assess the community situation and to assess the problems
• Introduce Sheild activities and inform
• Build and maintain trust relationships with communities
• Generate and formulate reports on the activities conducted and visits.
• Reporting on challenges and giving recommendations
• Data entry on any template

Required Skills and Experience

Experience and Knowledge:

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar field and in needs assessments
• Strong understanding of host communities and refugee issues in the current Lebanese context
• Familiarity with the target areas of assessments
• Excellent communication skills
• Showing cultural sensitivity , integrity and being socially aware of the socio-economic situation of the area
• Demonstrate ability to work independently under tight deadlines
• Flexibility and taking initiative

Educational Degree:

Bachelor Degree in social work, social science, sociology or any related field

Skills and Special Aptitudes:

• Languages : Fluency in Arabic and Good English skills
